Rich Gililand wants his workplace smoke-free

Thursday, June 10th, 2010

Rich Gililand is a musician from Tulsa, Oklahoma and like other musicians from across the state, he wants his workplace smoke-free.  Sadly, our lawmakers aren’t listening.  They think that Oklahoma IS smoke-free.

If you are a musician, a bartender, a cocktail waitress, or work in a restaurant/establishment with a “separately ventilated room”, you do not have the same protections from secondhand smoke that other workers in Oklahoma currently enjoy.

“I grew up in Tulsa have played music for nearly 30 years and for 30 years smoked about a pack a day. Breathing other peoples smoke in 400 smoke filled bars here and in Canada. In April 2 years ago I under went a quad bypass, at 53 yrs old!!!!!!! Long story short I don’t recomend the method but WHATEVER you have to do to quit, QUIT, and don’t play smoky bars. Still play/write and am releasing my 2nd CD in July I am now a disciple of SMOKE FREE and preach SMOKE FREE at every show.” -Rich Gililand/Musician

Join other Oklahoman’s like Rich and sign on to our petition, because EVERYONE, no matter where they work, has the right to breathe smoke-free air.
